The poor and homeless people of the country are given assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. With this amount, people living below the poverty line are able to build houses. PM Awas Yojana, the government is continuously working to provide housing to the poor and homeless people of India. There are two forms PM Awas Gramin and PM Awas Urban, the first is for rural areas and the second is for urban areas.

PM Awas Yojana Eligibility
- Residence: The applicant should not have his own permanent residence.
- Income: The annual income of the applicant should not exceed ₹3 lakh.
- Family: The applicant’s family should live in a rural area.
- Socio-Economic Category: The applicant must be Below Poverty Line (BPL) or a member of a Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), minority community, or a female headed household.
- Land Ownership: The applicant should not own more than 0.05 acre of land.
- Housing Assistance: The applicant must not have previously received assistance from any government housing scheme.

- First, visit the official website of PM Awas https://pmayg.nic.in/.
- Now the homepage of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin will open in front of you.
- Click on Awassoft, which is in the menu bar up here.
- Now click on Report option in the drop down menu.
- You will then send it to the page https://rhreporting.nic.in/netiay/newreport.aspx.
- Here you click on the option of confirmation of consumer details in the Social Audit Reports (H) section.
- The page of PM Awas MIS Report will now open in front of you.
- To see the list of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana on this page, select the name of your state, district, block and village. Then, select PM Awas Gramin List in the scheme benefits section.
- After this enter the captcha code and click on the submit button.

Features of PMAY Grameen Scheme
Following are the salient features of this ambitious welfare scheme:
- The central and state governments will be reimbursed the full cost while providing housing benefits to the rural poor. Currently the ratio is 60:40, with each state’s contribution shown in the final figure. All non-hill states will get Rs 1.20 lakh.
- The Central Government will fully assist all other Union Territories. There is no details of total expenditure.
- In the hilly states, especially the northern states, the contribution level ratio is 90:10, with 90 per cent of the funds provided by the central government. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has also agreed to similar provisions. These states will get a total of Rs 1.30 lakh. This money will be used to build permanent houses.
- The PM Awas Gramin List will dramatically improve the living conditions of the rural poor and replace all existing non-permanent housing units.
- Additional assistance of Rs. Provides Rs 12,000 per beneficiary to build a permanent toilet in each household. Additional help will be provided under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin or SBM-G. This will ensure that even the most rural people get a clean lifestyle. Incidentally, creation of clean living conditions is also an important campaign of the government.
- The beneficiaries will be determined on the basis of Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) or Census. After this, Gram Sabhas will verify the data and inform the administration.
- PM Awas Gramin List is completely transparent. To ensure that payments will be received only by those who need it, all payments will be sent directly to the bank accounts of beneficiaries and Aadhaar data will be verified.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMVYG)
- All beneficiaries of this scheme can avail loan up to Rs. 70,000 from pre-determined financial institutions. This money will be spent to build a permanent house.
- Payment of this amount gives some benefits. For one, interest rates will be 3% lower than normal, non-subsidized loans.
- The maximum size of subsidy can be Rs 2 lakh.
- Ujjwala scheme also has additional benefits including LPG connection.
- Building houses in hilly areas will increase financial assistance.
