This involves giving the less fortunate members of society financial support to build a house. The program formerly known as Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) was renamed as PMAY Gramin, or Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAYG). This affordable housing program was introduced to meet the objectives of the &#8220;Housing for All&#8221; scheme by 2022. The PMAY Gramin, or PMAYG, has been extended through 2024. Affordable housing with adequate amenities is what PMAY Gramin aims to provide for its recipients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicants must be on the PMAYG list created by the Gram Panchayat and local government to receive the benefits of PMAYG.PMAY Gramin houses will be created with special qualities like low cost and catastrophe resistance, and socio-cultural and geo-climate considerations will be made. By 2024, four crore homes are expected to be built nationwide as part of PMAY Gramin or Rural. The PMAY Gramin program has been extended until 2024, with a revised target of 2.95 crore pucca dwellings.
